About Me

My name is Mark Peterson and I am the founder and CEO of Finwick LLC. I am a trained fish biologist with years of experience managing a range of stream and river restoration projects from planning to execution and monitoring. I got into this because I love fish, rivers, and the complexities of how natural processes shape the world over time.

I am also a proud veteran and served for 8 years in the Marine Corps from 2000 - 2008 before getting a degree in fish biology at SUNY Cobleskill in New York in 2011.

After college, I went on to work as a state fisheries technician and biologist for New York and Oregon, as well as the US Forest Service. I also worked as a project manager on the Crooked River Watershed Council from 2018 til 2021 when I opened Finwick LLC to help NGOs, landowners and construction firms navigate the complex process of planning and executing restoration projects.

Last and most importantly, I am a husband to my wife and a father to my children. We are currently based in Terrebonne, Oregon.
